INGRID
A. WILLIAMS
Soror Ingrid A. Williams was initiated into our illustrious
Sisterhood on February 12, 1978 in the Upsilon Chapter, located on the
campus of the University of Southern California (USC). Soror Williams
was the President of her line – “The Dynamic Dozen”
and went on to become President of the chapter. During her tenure as
President, the chapter led the other Greek organizations in providing
service to the surrounding community. In fact, they were the first of
the collegiate groups to service the neighboring Senior Citizens home
by hosting an annual Black History Month program. Upon graduation from
USC in 1980 with a B.A. in Journalism and Sociology (double major),
Soror Williams joined the Los Angeles Alumnae chapter where she was
co-editor of the monthly newsletter.
After returning to her hometown of Washington DC, Soror
Williams joined The Federal City Alumnae Chapter in March of 1983. Since
that time she has served on the Program Planning and Development Committee
(formerly Projects), the Membership Committee, the Housing Committee,
served one term as Recording Secretary (under President Doris Crosson),
two terms as Co-Chair of PPD (under Presidents Gerald Scott and Sandra
Griffin), one term as Historian, and two terms as President of the DC
Delta Life Development Corporation/Delta Academy (under President Sandra
Griffin). Currently Soror Williams is serving as the Vice President
for Programs where she looks forward to working closely with all of
the Program Committees in helping them to achieve the chapter’s
outreach goals.
Professionally, Soror Williams has worked as a Business
Analyst for such companies as “Sallie Mae” and “Fannie
Mae”, before transitioning into the area of Training for over
10 years. Currently she works as a Proposal Manager for an IT Services
firm in Springfield, VA entitled FC Business Systems. In February 2004,
Soror Williams received her M.B.A. with a specialization in Technology
Management from the University of Phoenix.
This Soror’s hobbies are reading, traveling, listening
to music, socializing with family and friends, and SHOPPING! She is
a true “shoeholic”! Soror Williams loves Delta and feels
that becoming part of the Sisterhood is one of the best decisions she
has made in her life.
