E. KILGORE
Soror Joyce Kilgore, a native of Gary, Indiana, was initiated
through Theta Alpha Chapter at Northwestern University in Evanston,
Illinois. After graduation, she affiliated with the Chicago Alumnae
Chapter for 1 year before relocating to New York to accept a position
with Revlon. There she affiliated with the Westchester Alumnae Chapter
where she served as Founders Day Co-chair as well as Undergraduate Advisor
to the newly chartered Pi Lambda Chapter at Iona College in New Rochelle,
New York. She also served in the position of Vice President before leaving
New York to accept a 1-year Faculty Loan assignment at the University
of Wisconsin-Madison’s College of Engineering. Since relocating
to the Washington, DC area with the IBM Corporation in the early 1990s,
she settled in northern Virginia and joined The Federal City Alumnae
Chapter. After leaving IBM, she worked for the Greater Washington Urban
League, where she developed new marketing and fundraising programs.
In 1999, she served as Journalist for the Eastern Regional
Conference in Washington, DC as well as a member of the Eastern Region
Leadership Team. Locally, she has served on FCAC’s Awards and
Founders Day committees, and for the last 2 years, was the chapter Journalist/Chair
of the Publicity committee. Currently, she is serving as Co-Chair of
the Arts and Letters committee. Joyce currently works at US Postal Service
HQ in Washington, DC.
