On December 6, 1969, twenty - six visionary women embarked upon a new and challenging path in their Delta lives and they established The Federal City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Throughout the past 56 years, The Federal City Alumnae Chapter sorors have unselfishly given their time, energy and talents to the citizens of the District of Columbia, with a mission to serve the community through sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action.
TheFCAC hosts an annual Community Day and Fall Festival that brings together residents, organizations, and leaders to promote wellness, education, and empowerment across the city. The FCAC regularly hosts Voter Registration drives and meets with members of the City Council and the Mayor to address issues impacting our most vulnerable city residents.
The FCAC is also deeply committed to youth development through its robust award-winning programs: Delta Academy (for girls 11-14), Delta GEMS (for girls 14-18), and EMBODI (for young men 11-18). All youth programs are designed to provide STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) exposure, foster academic achievement, and promote positive self-identity.
Celebrated for its impact and innovation, Federal City Alumnae was honored as Large Chapter of the Year in the Eastern Region in 2020, 2022, and 2025 reflecting a consistent commitment to excellence and transformative service.
The Federal City Alumnae Chapter is a highly recognized and impactful organizational force that attracts strategic partners to serve effectively the needs of the community.
The Federal City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is an organization of college-educated women committed to constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black community throughout the District of Columbia.
