The Federal City Alumnae Chapter Arts & Letters Committee is proud to present Reading Is Lit!, an initiative celebrating Black authors and literacy while placing high-quality, culturally affirming books into the hands of students across Washington, D.C. Our goal? 900 books. Six schools. Countless young minds inspired because every child deserves to see themselves on the page. We’ve made it easy - and impactful - to give back while supporting Black-owned businesses: Shop in person at our partner Solid State Books DC, a Black-owned business.
