The FCAC Chaplain's August Inspirational Message
Own who you are… that’s right… flaws and all… own them… any shortcomings, inadequacies, perceived failures, mistakes, mishaps, misadventures, clumsiness, awkwardness. All of it! The Truth, with a capital T, is that it is all ok. Moments in our lives, challenges that drive us to make both personal and professional improvements, opportunities to reinvent and reimagine ourselves as our better selves, chances to reconsider our choices, and without question, God’s grace to renew and begin again. The first step is ownership - owning our truths, and then moving into action to reveal, heal, and expand. Self-ownership is about claiming our spaces; being aware, “doing” self-care, and being self-confident… remember that our deepest fears cannot stand in the way of our wholeness. Let each of us own who we are… and trust me that self-ownership makes the knowing of whose we are even sweeter. I encourage each of us to pray and release it all to God.
And so it is, Amen.
Philippians 4:8: “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
